5 Time Saving Instant Pot Recipes

Everyone appears to be using some type of electric pressure cooker these days. The time saving delicious dishes that come from these machines are remarkable. Hmm…how would I know this? Oh yeah…I have two of them myself!

This marvelous cooking appliance, even without any additional accessories, can create a wide variety of mouth-watering meals. Get a couple of additional accessories for your particular cooker and the culinary world is within your grasp.

Now I put Instant pot in the title but there are several electric pressure cookers to choose from such as; the Power Pressure Cooking series, Ninja series, and a host of others. Most have similar features but I would recommend one that has a stainless steel inner cooking pot to prevent the non- stick coating from peeling off into your 5-course extravaganza. Most of the operating procedures are pretty similar on most units so you really shouldn’t have a difficult time getting up and cooking with any unit.

My semi-pro tip is to familiarize yourself with the sauté/browning/sear feature on these machines. this will prevent all of your proteins from having that “stew” quality. Even more exciting is the newer models that offer an air fryer lid combo package so you can get that crispy top to some of the dishes in your pressure cooker. These models give you the speed of a pressure cooker combined with the crispy texture of an oven…what more can you ask for?

Have an old machine and don’t want to spring for a newer model with air frying capability? Not to worry, several manufactures make aftermarket “crisper lids ‘ that will fit with most existing pressure cookers. Are you hungry yet? I am, so let’s get to the links for 5 of my favorite pressure cooker recipes.

1. Spaghetti

This is my go-to meal in the pressure cooker. Why? Because it is easy and flexible and so friggin delicious!

You can get as simple and complex as you want with this dish but there is something about the flavors getting infused into the pasta that make it so taste so good. Check out this recipe.

2. Wings

How can you go wrong with wings? These tasty morsels can be cooked from fresh or frozen and cooked in a fraction of the time in the oven.

Like your wings succulent?… drain and sauce them in the pressure cooker. Like them with a little crunch?… Break out the crisper lid or finish them in the traditional oven. Either way, it’s time to put on a movie, watch sports on tv, or just enjoy your favorite wing sauce with your wings…yum! Get the recipe here.

3. Chicken Noodle Soup

Forget the canned store bought stuff.

Get the pieces of chicken you like into your cooker, combine noodles and veggies of your choice and put you secret spice in the mix and BOOM…the best chicken noodle soup you have ever tasted. Here is the recipe.

4. Rice

Ok, so I cheated on this one. This is not really a dish but these machines make the best foolproof rice I have ever tasted.

Just follow the instructions and make the perfect rice every time

5. Pulled Pork

Want some delicious and tender pulled pork in just 90 minutes instead of 8 hours? That’s right, you can put a pork shoulder in your pressure cooker with some seasonings and in under 90 minutes be enjoying some of the most delicious pulled pork sandwiches (don’t forget slider buns, pickles, and coleslaw) you’ve ever tasted.

This recipe is a true time saver! Don’t be upset if most of this disappears in “to go” plates from your guests. Here is the recipe.

Have fun with these recipes and if I get better with these gadgets I will add some of my own. If you have any favorites that you whip up in your pressure cooker don’t be selfish…share with all of us. What’s in your pot?
